Plagiarism Policy
Albariq: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa Arab is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing. All submitted manuscripts must be original and free from plagiarism.
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:
- copying text, ideas, data, or results from other sources without proper citation
- presenting another person’s work as one’s own
- self-plagiarism (reusing one’s previously published work without proper acknowledgment)
- improper paraphrasing or close imitation of existing works
Plagiarism Screening
All manuscripts submitted to the journal will be screened using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin or equivalent tools.
Similarity Index Threshold
The journal applies a maximum similarity index of 20% under the following conditions:
- Similarity must not originate from a single source in excessive proportion
- Properly cited quotations, references, and methodological descriptions are acceptable
- Editorial evaluation will distinguish between acceptable similarity and potential plagiarism
Editorial Evaluation
Similarity reports are carefully reviewed by the editorial team to assess:
- the nature and context of similarities
- whether the overlap affects the originality of the work
- compliance with proper citation and academic writing standards
Manuscripts exceeding the acceptable threshold or showing signs of unethical similarity will be:
- returned to the author for revision, or
- rejected outright, depending on the severity of the issue
Policy on Detected Plagiarism
If plagiarism is detected at any stage of the publication process:
- Before publication
- the manuscript will be rejected or returned for correction
- After publication
- the article may be corrected, retracted, or removed
- a formal notice may be issued by the journal
Author Responsibilities
Authors are responsible for:
- ensuring the originality of their manuscripts
- properly citing all sources and references
- using quotation marks for verbatim text
- avoiding redundant or duplicate publication
Ethical Compliance
This policy is implemented in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics, ensuring transparency, fairness, and integrity in scholarly publishing.
